Jesmonite Pigments allow Jesmonite AC100/200/300 to be pigmented to any colour required. Jesmonite Pigments can also be mixed together to create almost any colour needed.
Jesmonite Pigments must be added to the Jesmonite Liquids by weight before the Jesmonite Base is added and mixing commences. Jesmonite Pigments are added at a maximum of 2% by weight of the total mix, or 20 grams/kilo of total mix (Base and Liquids). Scales with a minimum of 1g increments should be used when adding Jesmonite Pigments. 20g will produce a strong, saturated colour.
For lighter colours simply reduce the addition rate until the desired colour is achieved. Please note that Jesmonite Base is a natural material and as such is subject to minor variation – please take this into account when making very pale objects or when using the material without Jesmonite Pigment.
Jesmonite Pigments are not UV stable so are not recommended for external use, we recommend you use them for internal projects only. Users may find that the Jesmonite Pigments achieve deeper/stronger colours within Jesmonite AC100 compared to Jesmonite AC300. This is due to the greater amounts of acrylic within the Jesmonite AC100 matrix, the acrylic content within the Jesmonite Pigments simply bonds better with the increased acrylic content within Jesmonite AC100.
Jesmonite Pigments can also be used to pigment plaster, add at 2% by weight, as above.
Jesmonite Pigments have a shelf life of 24 months.

How to use?

Mixing

To use Jesmonite AC100, you'll need to mix the base and liquid components in the correct ratio. The recommended base to liquid ratio for Jesmonite AC100 is 2.5:1. You can mix the components by hand or with a drill-mounted mixer.

Preparing the surface

Before you start working with Jesmonite AC100, you'll need to prepare the surface where you'll be applying it. Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any debris or contaminants that could affect the adhesion of the material.

Curing

Jesmonite AC100 cures chemically through an exothermic reaction, which increases its strength and durability. The cure time for Jesmonite AC100 is only 25 minutes, after which the material will be ready for further processing or use.

Sealing

Depending on the intended use of the finished Jesmonite AC100 product, you may want to seal it to protect it from water, stains, or other contaminants. You can seal Jesmonite AC100 with a variety of sealants, such as acrylic, polyurethane, or wax.
